Upgrades

Is there any AKU upgrade to the phone?

How about any word on a WM6 upgrade?

Highly unlikely there will be a WM6 upgrade for this phone, and due to the high cost of it, there don't seem to be enough units in circulation to garner enough interest in an AKU upgrade. There is an i760 that is soon-to-be released on Verizon, which is the upgrade to their i730. Verizon has 6-month exclusivity on the device so we should see a Sprint i860 some time next spring.

That's probably the only downside of this device. There aren't nearly as many owners of this phone as there are with the 6800, so we won't see as many device-specific hacks. Others, feel free to chime in and let me know if I'm on track with this or not.

When you dig into the phone you find that this unit really is a Verison phone repackaged. There are so many Verizon references in the registry I'm afraid they are going to start billing me.

All users of this phone that I have spoken to or heard from on forums etc. have ALL said that the phone has connection issues and people can not hear them when on BT head sets. (although they can hear the other party just fine.) This requires a new AKU. By the way where the hell is all the aftermarket stuff for this phone.

For a $600 dollar phone that is unacceptable. If Samsung does the programing for one phone it should work for the other. The question is will Sprint pay samsung for the work. Unlikely!

I wonder what PDA phone they will use to repalce this via the insurance program, when it's destroyed. An i730? Maybe that will get me WM6?
