No, it won't prevent the cap..there is no actual cap...usually when you go over 5gb your provider cancels your service..but it depends on your provider...for sprint I use like 100gb even though my cap is 5gb and they dont care..youll have to read what people say about your provider.

This is how its done on a Fascinate, yours should be the same I think:

1. Tap Applications.

2. Open the Messaging app.

3. Press Menu.

4. Tap Notification settings.

5. Choose Select ringtone.

6. Choose the desired ringtone in the list.

you should also install the app "superuser"....since you are rooted now you want to have control of any apps that need root access and superuser does just that....everyone that has root access basically uses superuser. Just an FYI ........also to my understanding everything is basically the same as the Verizon Fascinate so if you go to XDA-developers.com then you can get all the info you need there in the forum for the Fascinate/Mesmerize
