New Forum Structure

*oops I meant to post this in the main Galaxy S section lol*

So just to confirm so we are all on the same page

Code:
Samsung Galaxy Series - General Chat goes here

                          |
                          |---Accessories - Accessories
                          |---Upgrades - Roms

                          |---Upgrades - Roms
Am I correct? or can we keep themes and mods in the upgrades forums too?

Oh and thanks for the cleanup Carla..you deserve a cup of kittens for your hard work:

Re: New Forum Structure

Carla stickied a note about the rules of the upgrade forum, so I would keep themes and mods in the device general area and leave the upgrade area strictly for ROMs, radios and kitchens.

And a thousand thanks to Carla for moving everything around. I was having a hard time keeping up with where the hell everything is.

I moved the discussion to the main forum..yeah I saw it was written strictly for roms but then Themes/mods and other stuff are gonna be lost in general chatting...so it either needs its own sub-forum, go in the upgrades and we use a tag system such as [ROM], [THEME], [MOD]..or we keep general chat in the main section/cdma section and keep themes and other stuff in the device specific sections..

OK, then lets do this:

HTML Code:

             |--- Sprint Epic 4G - Device Only Themes, Mods Apps Development and etc
                          |

             |--- Verizon Fascinate - Device Only Themes, Mods, Apps Development and etc
                          |
                          |---Themes and Mods
                          |---Accessories - Accessories
                          |---Upgrades - Roms

             |
             |--- AT&T Captivate - Device Only Themes, Mods, Apps Development and etc
                          |
                          |---Themes and Mods
                          |---Accessories - Accessories
                          |---Upgrades - Roms

             |--- T-Mobile Vibrant - Device Only Themes, Mods, Apps Development and etc
                          |
                          |---Themes and Mods
                          |---Accessories - Accessories
                          |---Upgrades - Roms

Too deep in the weeds IMO..

The following seems a bit less confusing LOL

                          |---Themes and mods
                          |---Upgrades - Roms

             |--- Verizon Fascinate - Device Only Themes, Mods, Apps Development and etc
                          |
                          |---Themes and Mods
                          |---Upgrades - Roms

Re: New Forum Structure

I like that layout, but we would need to divide up the Accessory section into sub-topics for each phone. They are all different enough to warrant their own section, especially the Epic.

Re: New Forum Structure

So you guys are saying we should ask for a themes and mods section for each?

Though personally from seeing the Size of the Evo forum I don't see why we can't just merge themes, roms and mods :/

Re: New Forum Structure

After wading through pages and pages of information on the TP2, I would like to see the themes and mods separate from the ROMs/kitchens section. I might flash a new ROM once every few weeks, but I'm always looking for day-to-day improvements, new graphics, etc. Maybe a separate theme/mod section isn't necessary for each phone if it they work for all versions. I would think themes would definitely go in the general Galaxy S section. Specific mods for just one phone would need to be labeled as such.

Re: New Forum Structure

As long as we got TW2.5 and not 3 there would probably be a difference :/

That said thats what tags are for [ROM], [THEME] and etc would work...using the search feature you would instantly get only themes or only roms...but whichever will do as long as we have something...

Will placing the tags be the responsibility of each poster? If so I can see a lot of people forgetting to properly tag their posts.
