Re: TP or IPhone
Depends. Both are cool but if you are new to smartphones & or have no time, need something easy to manage with lots of storage & easy to update, get the iPhone.
If you've had smartphones before or your looking for a phone with more options, open potential, power, expansion, input options & upgradeability, get the TouchPro. My feelings: In my bias *WimMo blooded* I say get the Pro & never look back, the options will sell you. The iPhone is far too limited IMHO & not enough free apps to toy with. Hope I helped. Re: TP or IPhone
I, for some reason, see alot of people getting aggitated in this thread.
The IPhone, while cool in its own respects, lacks the support of a community. The IPhone is made for one reason. Profit at purchase, profit with use, profit when they're asleep, awake, or dead. Profit Profit Profit. The plans cost more, even against the standard plan (see how much you would save in 2 years vs. buying the Fuze...). Then you even have a-holes running around selling the "$1,000 Screen Saver". Really? That's the kind of "Community" that Apply Fanboys have to offer? Of course, HTC is in it to make money too. But you don't have the communities with the IPhone (there may be a few, but they are no where close to the support that you get here at PPCgeeks). You don't have the hive mind of answers, software, and cool things you can add into a WinMo phone. If you want a phone that everyone has because of the bandwagon syndrome that goes with it. (remember the Nokia 5165? Remember the first RAZR?...) When the IPhone finally apexs, and AT&T will no longer pay the astronomical amounts of cash you will be able to get them cheaper, possibly. But that is if Apple will drop the ridiculous amounts of cash it costs just to carry a phone you can't even change your own battery in without voiding the warranty. And they thought that Windows was going to make people pay yearly for their OS first... Hahahah.

Re: TP or IPhone
I have and use both everyday. They both have their strengths and weaknesses.
If you want a reasonably capable smartphone with incredible media and web browsing features with the highest quality music and video playback, the iPhone wins hands down. The quality and polish of the programs in the app store are getting more amazing daily... If you want a phone that is truly a completely customizable/programmable handheld computer with a real keyboard, get the the TP. As said in this thread, it has an incredible, talented community behind it. I love having and using both. It is truly the best of both worlds. I, if put against the wall and forced to chose one over the other, would probably take the TP because I can constantly tweak and load custom ROMs on it. The robust messaging and jewel-like screen, although small, is incredible. It would be very hard, however, to give up the essential smoothness and quality of the media, interface experience, and web browsing capability of the iPhone. FWIW. Re: TP or IPhone
The $30/month Sprint SERO plan was discontinued in July. The best they have to offer now is 450 minutes w/unlimited data, texting for $69.99.
AT&T's plan is 30/month data with 450 mins voice 39.99 |
