hero???

So I am considering getting the new samsung when it hits for sprint on aug 31st and I currently am a hero user and I love it but has seen better days hardware wise. It currently has some damage and I would like to upgrade, but I am afraid to do so because I have always owned HTC phones for the better part of the last 3 yrs. So I am debating my choice, I would love to try the evo but I can't get my hands on that anywhere. Any and all suggestions and feedback will be appreciated.

Re: hero???

Epic has the keyboard and a better screen, it's up to you though... I'd give it a few weeks to see if they root it quick

Re: hero???

In the same boat as you. Really digging the Epic and miss having my actual keyboard. All my phones have been HTC as well. I'm pretty confident some people here or over at xda will be able to figure out rooting methods. If you end up making the switch let us know how it goes!

Re: hero???

Another plus is that the Epic's keyboard seems to be laid out quit nicely.

I didn't want to get the Moment because it's keyboard looked like a little kids toy, intercept wasn't much better.

I really loved the Touch Pro 1's keyboard, and the TP2's board seemed good too so I'm glad that the Epic doesnt have another Samsung poorly laid out keyboard

There is that evo-ish thing with a keyboard circulating around in ATT colors. I'm sure it will make it to Sprint

Definitely! When I was looking at the picture of it, I actually pulled my TP out to compare how the Epics 5 rows and the TP's compared. That was the hardest part of leaving my TP for the Hero. I really prefer a physical keyboard over an onscreen one.

All the other Galaxy S phones have been rooted from day 1..I doubt this will be any different...

Which phone are you talking about? and most people here don't like ATT >.>

Either way Epic is an awesome phone and there is already a lot of the development on the Galaxy S phones on xda which we will msot likely benefit from a lot...

Re: hero???

I am torn my hero needs replacing, I am either going to end up with another hero or going to an evo if I can find one or going to go to the samsung epic. I really miss having a hardware keyboard. I did notice that the epic's keyboard is comparible to the tp and tp2 which both of these phones I loved except for windows if they werent windows I wouldve kepth them. What are the thoughts on the evo? Does anyone think it is too big?
