Converting DVD Movies

Hi everyone. I would like to know what program I should use (and directions to use it) to convert/play DVD movies on my 800w. I have seen/heard about many different types, but I would like to find the best one available for my Treo 800w, and one that is user friendly. Thanks!

Re: Converting DVD Movies

Also go to the Software Forum and run a search on the word "convert". You'll come up with lots of discussions for converting dvd's to portable devices.

Re: Converting DVD Movies

it really depends on a few things. are you trying to do the easiest way? or the cheapest way? the easiest way in my opinion is SPB dvd mobile. you drop the dvd into drive and pick what parts of the movie and what size. it does the rest.it plays on coreplayer or the built in windows media playeryou can buy it here
http://www.spbsoftwarehouse.com/products/mobiledvd/?en
the cheapest way is to use a program like dvd shrink, it will give you vob. files then use a program to convert it to a avi

Re: Converting DVD Movies

Currently I use AnyDVD and Clone DVD to decrypt and shrink the original DVD. But I am sure I would need something else to shrink/convert to a mobile format. Thanks for your input.

I'm not sure exactly but I convert a lot of movies for my PSP and depending on quality they'll range from 400MB to 900MB. If its a movie with lots of action and fast moving scenes I'll encode at a higher quality, hence the larger file. But resolution also has something to do with it too. Encoding to a lower resolution will decrease the file size. I'd expect a 250MB file for an average quality encoding for the 800w's resolution.
