I am new to site. I have treo 800. Maybe there is a thread regarding this, but I could not find it. Has any one figured out a way to add call tones to the WM Device. Please help.

Amillion thanks in advance.

Re: Call Tones

If by call tones, you mean ring tones, then yes, you certainly can. There's a number of ways to get ring tones. Some folks make their own, using .mp3's. I get a lot of mine from www.phonezoo.com. It's user maintained, so there's no licensing issues. It's also free. Anyway, once you d/l the tones you want, make sure they are in the My Documents folder. Go to Sounds and Notifications, click the Notifications tab, and then select Event from the drop down. Next, select the ringtone you want for that event from the Play Sound drop down.

Do understand that this is the procedure I follow for my Treo 700WX, the procedure for your 800W may be somewhat different.

Re: Call Tones

I meant Call tones. When someone calls, instead of the boring ringing they hear music or anything but the ringing sound while waiting for someone to answer.

Thanks for the quick reply

Re: Call Tones

Oh, those. I believe that's something you request through your carrier, at least that's how mine (VZW) does it. Once you get that feature added on, you can go to your carrier's website and add specific tones

Re: Call Tones

I appreciate the answers, but I do not like to pay Sprint anymore than I have to. A call tone last only 90 days, then we have to order another as you know. Someone must come up with a way to add those to the device forever once purchased. Also on the 700wx, there is an "announce feature" that has been omitted on the 800. The phone tells you who is calling or what number. Can we find a solution for that for the 800?

I need a lot of help

Thanks

Re: Call Tones

Here's what you're looking for. The cab (if I remember right) changes your user agent so the sprint site sees your browser as a "dumb phone" that is accessable to the vision site.

I think you are think you are talking about Voice Command. Goto Start > Settings > Voice Command.
