file transfer via bluetooth

i tried to send a contact's info from my wx to my wife's blackberry via bluetooth and it failed. i can't seem to send pics or files to my dell laptop via bluetooth either, same result. i can sync via bluetooth to the same laptop no problem.

a co-worker just picked up a nokia n73 and i was able to send him a movie clip no problem

what gives?!

Blackberry devices older than pearl only use the bluetooth capabilities for Hands free BT headsets and nothing else. So I can see why that may have been a problem while sending the contact information.

sending pics or files to your dell laptop should definately work, make sure you have both devices paired and have them both see each other as trusted device.

What error is it producing? when you try to send something to the laptop.

from Treo to PC it says failed. says the same from PC to treo. from PC to treo i'm just right clicking in the image and selecting send to...bluetooth device. i'll double check my firewall

this is the actual message:

A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond
