Re: Palm Pre hacked and running on Verizon
my guess is that they got someone to add it in by telling them it was perhaps an alltel phone or something?
i have my sprint diamond on vzw but that was before they closed the *228 option 3 thing.... |

Re: Palm Pre hacked and running on Verizon
From what I have read in different websites this was done a few weeks ago when some was able to change the msid and esn to put it on cricket. Also I read that one person was able to put it on big read since the esn on the pre starts off as the same as the treo pro so he just said it was a treo pro, think they both start as a something.

Re: Palm Pre hacked and running on Verizon
the question is now, if vzw see our foreign phones on tneir network (shows up as other when on line) can vzw disable the phone or kick the phone off the account so it cant be used?

Re: Palm Pre hacked and running on Verizon
Are they allowed to do that? There's nothing illegal with using another phone on verizon, they just want to force you to buy their phones.

Re: Palm Pre hacked and running on Verizon
verizon open up there networks a few months ago and it said that they would activate any phone with a clean esn, or unlocked phone on there system. The hard part is finding a rep that knows how to input the meid on the system.

Re: Palm Pre hacked and running on Verizon
they tell people their open network is only for non phone stuff like sensors that call into a server to send data about how much oil their is in the thing... so far no one really knows in vzw about open network.... i have a sprint diamond, vzw has the diamond, you would think no problem right? well if you call they wont do it... unless you get some one who knows how to add the msid or esn but that can take 10 or 20 calls... and with sprint if you call customer service that much sprint will cancel your account for calling in too much...
