Phone Number Issue Help

I recently got the palm pre as of this morning(such an awesome phone). I also have my HTC Touch Pro, however I added the palm pre on as a second line because I couldn't just give up my TP plan because it's the best around. The phone number on my TP is the # I want to use on my pre. There has to be someway or someone that knows how to swap my Pre number to my TP and my TP number to my Pre. I got told by some chat representative that I'd have to switch my TP to a everything plan and then he could move the Pre over to that number but the end result would be me loosing my TP plan and my TP being stuck on a everything plan with my pre's new number...so it's like jeez thanks I half accomplished what I'd like to do but still lose out . Anyone please!!!
