[How To] Jailbreak Your iPhone. (5.1.1)
if something here isn't included, let me know and I will change the first post to include it. All help is appreciated. This way people don't have to go to obsolete random iphone threads just to try to figure something out.
Before you do any updating back-up your SHSH Blobs. The why and how can be found here in Wideawake's super awesome tutorial here. Also sync and backup all of your songs, pics, numbers, everything in case you have to restore! To jailbreak all iOS models that run iOS 5.01 thru 5.1.1 you need to just download and run Absinthe 2. Get it here: Absinthe v2.0.2 MacOSX (10.5, 10.6, 10.7) Absinthe v2.0.2 Windows (XP/Vista/Win7) Absinthe v2.0.2 Linux (x86/x86_64) compatible with:

Brand new iphone 3gs 3.1.3
I just broke my iphone 3gs, which i had jailbroken. I got a brand new one, "free", from apple. Unfortunately, this has 3.1.3 on it. I have seen ways to update an already jailbroken phone to 3.1.3, but no ways to jailbreak 3.1.3 directly. Is there any way for me to do this? I am on mac so snowbreeze wont work.

Re: The Essential Iphone Thread! - jailbreak/unlock/ssh/theme/tips etc.
Moved the above post here to where the answers are
Here I've quoted what will help you "2Gs and 3Gs on 3.1.3 can be jailbroken, and only unlocked if the bootloader is 5.08 or below. If you did an official itunes update to 3.1.3 there is pretty much no chance your bootloader is the correct version and you're probably locked do ATT till an unlock comes out. But they can be jailbroken. use this link to jailbreak your 3.1.3 2G or 3G iphone: http://www.redmondpie.com/download-s...-iphone-3.1.3/"
