OnLive Desktop Offers Free Virtual Desktop with Office 2010
OnLive has just released their iPad app and you can sign up for a free account now. The free account will get you access to your very own, private virtual desktop running Windows 7 (stored online or "in the cloud"), complete with Office 2010 already installed. You will also get 2GB of free data storage. The only downside that I saw with this service is that you are not able to install third party apps and cannot use the virtual desktop to browse the Internet. But the free version would be ideal for students or business people only needing to work with Office.
And the Pro version, coming soon, will offer 50GB of data storage, the ability to use IE to browse the web (Flash on iPad) and the ability to install third party software. The Pro version is to cost $9.99/month. You can read more about the service and download the iPad app below. Also, don't forget to sign up for an account, which does take a couple of hours for them to create, and then provision your virtual desktop. OnLive Desktop - Simple PC App Access from Anywhere
