Thumbs up Hero Android Vogue - Near Perfect!!!!!!

**UPDATE** I've built a guide to help the newer guys try out android. Please let me know what you think: http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=79798

Hey guys I know there are tons of post about android on your vogue. But I have been trying every freaking build out there and have never been really satisfied with any of them. A lot of them have the horrible button set-up or cannot change keyboards or etc. The build listed below is one of the best Hero builds I've ever used. The buttons have been remapped and everything works flawlessly (plus there is almost NO lag at all)! If your using android already, or you've been waiting to try it, this is your chance to see what it can really do. I can't even put everything it does great in this post because I keep thinking of new things. Trust me and let me know what you think. Its the one labeled zen-hero-090809.zip: http://code.google.com/p/vogue-android/downloads/list

Buttons are mapped as follows:
Power - MENU
Volume - ACTUALLY CONTROLS VOLUME
Camera - BACK
Green - PHONE
Red - SCREEN LOCK AND SCREEN OFF
D-Pad - ACTUALLY SCROLLS
Big Button - ENTER

Re: Hero Android Vogue - Near Perfect!!!!!!

ive been wanting to try an Android system but havnet really been able to get any of them to actually load and work to play with on my Vogue. Im glad to hear this build is a good one but what all are the directions to be downloading it/ how hard was it to install and run? some say you need a mem card empty but others say no. How much memory does it take up and how easy is it to customize? Just a few questions for ya if ya know the answer.

Re: Hero Android Vogue - Near Perfect!!!!!!

I really like Android on my Sprint HTC Touch.
I had been running DZO's version several months back.
This latest HERO version looks great!

However, I have reservations using Android from the SD card.
At the time I was running Android, there many claims that running Android for a period of time (from the SD Card) would corrupt the SD card.
Concerned loosing everything on my SD card, stopped running Android.

I would love to resume Android use.
Has this "SD card corrupted with Android use" myth has been killed or confirmed?

Thanks...

Yeah just make sure your mem card is empty and download the zip mentioned. Once its on your card, just unzip it. It will install everything you need. Then you just click on Haret.exe and voila your done. Once you get into Android you can add just about anything you like.

Re: Hero Android Vogue - Near Perfect!!!!!!

I must be missing something. I downloaded the file, unzipped it and put it on my card, but all I get is a white screen after I run haret.exe. Could anyone lend a bit of advice? I'm all thumbs when it comes to Android installs.

Does this really need a empty memory card?

I would rather wait until this can work off a non-empty memory card. So do you clean your memory card every time you upgrade the Andriod version? That seems like a lot of trouble.
