Please Help with my GPS Sprint/Alltel Touch

Okay here is the deal I had this problem on my Blackberry and now on the Touch. I was given a Sprint Touch I have converted it to Alltel and everything is working great. Except I can not pick up any GPS satellites unless I run the Alltel Navigator. If I open that first and then run my TOMTOM program it works fine however this is very frustrating and I would like to use somethings reliable and not pay the $10 a month. I know that Verizon has kept there GPS locked and I have read a lot of posts but I am not sure if this applies to me as I am on Alltel who is becoming Verizon in my area.
Can anyone tell me how to unlock my GPS and get moving forward with my Touch

Thanks in advance

Thats strange. I bet there's a registry key somewhere that proprietizes the gps access. Is it a custom Alltel rom, or the stock rom? Seems like a custom rom would fix the problem.

Yeah, but you always have to have leather glove on and have one hand on your chin the entire time, also, or else it won't work.

If you would have read my post I am using a different app but I must use the Alltel Navigator to initialize the GPS otherwise TOMTOM by itself does not pick up any satellites.

Thanks for the tip I will try and see about a custom ROM as I am using the Stock Alltel Rom that I DL'd from the HTC website.

Okay well I tried a few different roms and no luck. Also I tried the GPS drivers and the GPS Enabler and that seems to make it worse I get a no GPS error at least currently I just don't pick up the signal unless I initialize it with the Alltel Navigator.

well just to post an update after hours of messing with settings I am happy to report I am able to just use my tom tom app.

should work out of the box for google maps and the like. Try a new rom, maybe? I've never flashed before, so i can't say from experience, but that sounds like the suggestion you'll most likely get.
