Google Maps keeps crashing

I'm using CNR's ROM, which has Google Maps built in, but for some reason it started crashing everytime I tried to use it. It gets as far as saying "Loading..." up in the corner, and then it unexpectedly closes. I tried installing Google Maps, so I could then uninstall it, then REinstalled it AGAIN, and it still crashes. Reg edits proved useless, and I don't know what to do at this point. I'd rather NOT use LiveSearch. Any fixes for this?

have you tried backing up your data and hard reseting? might help fix any bugs in it.

this happend to me a while back and uninstalling live search fixed the issue.

Nevermind, a hard reset fixed it. Unfortunately now I have to do the billion reg edits to get everything ELSE working right.

I had problem with GoogleMaps crashing, which I fixed by deleting the preferences file at \Application Data\GoogleMaps\prefsext. Lost Favorites, but that's much less to rebuild than after a hard reset.
