Sending Bell Touch in on warranty

The screen on my touch started to die, looks like the conductive layer is actually peeling away from the glass, leading to dead spots in the touch sensitivity of the screen. I called Bell and they gave me a replacement right away. Now I've got to send the old one in.

I upgraded to the GPS radio after getting the phone, but I've been reading some posts here that suggest that downgrading would be a bad idea. The phone that they sent as a replacement seems to have one of the newer radios, and so I'm wondering if I could just flash the new Bell ROM from the HTC site if it's using the 3.xx radio. On bootup the numbers on the old one read R 3.37.15 D 3.02 and the new one is R 3.42.50 D 3.09. So can I just flash to the ROM here: http://www.htc.com/us/SupportDownloa...cat=2&dl_id=98 and send it back?

Any advice would be great.
