Set phone MSL to 0's

Im trying to set my msl to 0's but I cannot seem to get qpst, or cdma workshop to recognize my phone, it says the drivers are installed, and i am in diag mode by ##3424, anyone have any suggestions?
I am using NFSFANS ROM, but i have also tried flashing back to a sprint stock rom and then doing it, still no luck...

Are you connecting to a USB port directly on the motherboard of the PC/Laptop? This error is pretty common when people try to connect to a monitor, keyboard, USB hub, docking station, etc... just a thought.
