Don't Need Mini USB converter

Don't know if this is well know, but I just figured out that you DO NOT need the mini-usb to phone converter to charger your phone or to connect it to your computer. Just stick the mini usb cable right into your phone - it only fits one way because of the little cut-off corner - and it works perfectly. I have charged my phone, and connected to my computer, no problems. I'm throwing the stupid converter away. Finally

Re: Don't Kneed Mini USB converter

yeah true but some say if you just jam it in there, it could mess up your port. that's why the adapter is there

Re: Don't Kneed Mini USB converter

Heh... Its actually pretty funny how I figured that out.

Well, when I got my mogul I didn't think that the standard USB cable would fit. So I decided to use the converter. I plugged in my phone to charge and went downstairs. Halfway down the stairs, I realized that I had the converter in my hand. I ran back up to my desk, and I had the regular cable connected!

It was my embarrassing moment of the day.

Re: Don't Kneed Mini USB converter

well, the fact that the supplied power adapter was the 5-pin variety gave me the hint..
page 10 in the user manual also states this..

Re: Don't Kneed Mini USB converter

Wait...what? Converter?

I don't even know what it looks like, so it's probably in the plastic in a box somewhere. I never used one for the Mogul or my Touch. I thought it was common knowledge that it's still a 5-pin mini USB, so just because it's not the same exact shape, it doesn't matter.

lol I had no idea people used a converter.

Re: Don't Kneed Mini USB converter

Pretty stupid not to realize this the second you received your phone.
USB-A to USB Mini-B directly to the phone.

No "kneed" to post about it.
