Question Least Power hungry- what's the best ROM/Radio combo?

Hey guys,
I think I have tried most of the custom ROM's lately. However, I think it's the radio which is killing my battery.
I mean it's down 40-45% after 5 hours without any phone calls.
I am running 3.42.3 Sprint Radio right now and clean OMJ ROM.
Thanks for any suggestions.

Welcome to the Vogue.

That's pretty typical for this phone.

after loading a new rom, let the battery run all the way till it dies, then charge it all the way up, this usually helps a lot, kind of like calibrating the battery meter

Question Re: Least Power hungry- what's the best ROM/Radio combo?

Is it possible to load the Bell ROM and than use it on Sprint?
How do I go about doing that?
I tried this before and everything seemed to work except for the GPS. I had to go back to the Sprint Radio in order for it to get a GPS lock.
Thanks.

Re: Least Power hungry- what's the best ROM/Radio combo?

I run stock bell rom with the new radio, I use manilla 2d, I let my data stay connected all day, have dashwire running, and I have GPS running all the time as well. I do some casual surfing(Checking here, and howardforums) during the day, text here and there, have weather and email set to auto update during every hour or so, and with all this I get home and usually 60% left after 9 hours or so. I do suggest the running it down, and recharging every now and again and you should see decent results then.

I can't believe that. Will have to give that a try. So far haven't been able to get that kind of result. Thanks.

Re: Least Power hungry- what's the best ROM/Radio combo?

Anyone else get extra battery life out of it? I didn't play with it enough to find out. That would be about the reason why I would reinstall it. After having a stripped down WM rom and getting all my shortcuts on the Today screen, I found Manilla to be annoying and cumbersome. It is pretty though.

yeah f-ing right! I can hard-reset my phone with nothing running on it, and it will be below 60% in 9 hours.

the GPS/data/email thing is unbelievable. GPS drains an ENORMOUS amount of power. Are you sure GPS is "active?"

On any ROM/radio I have used, if I had all the stuff running that you did, my battery would be completely drained in 2 hours or so... Mostly the GPS....
