Exchange doesn't work in WM6.1

The new release from HTC (Rom 3.03.651.4) which contains WM6.1 will not sync with my work's exchange server 2003. If you sync only email and nothing else.. I can get it to work.. but if you try to sync email, contacts, calendar etc.. it shows a repllog.exe error and won't sync.

I've talked to Sprint and HTC on the phone.. they both have no answers. Seems like they need to make WM6.1 and Activesync backwards compatible since WM6.0 worked.

If anyone has any solutions.. I am all ears.

Re: Exchange doesn't work in WM6.1

Have you asked your Exchange admins to look into it? As far as I know WM6.1 does work with Exchange 2003.

Re: Exchange doesn't work in WM6.1

It works fine on my exchange 2003 server syncing over 1000 emails, contacts, calendar & tasks.

Do you have any more detail on the error you are getting?

Re: Exchange doesn't work in WM6.1

I too am able to sync and it works pretty good other than the delayed sync problem i've recently had. So sometimes I have to manually tell it to sync where direct push does not immediately take care of it. I second the exchange admin advise. Could be something on that side. A quick search on google brought up plenty..

Re: Exchange doesn't work in WM6.1

Mine works too... the only problem I have is my company requires the security PIN... and that conflicts with S2U2... every time I turn on my screen, it goes straight to the today screen, by-passing S2U2... and this only happens with the exchange setup with the security provisions...

I could always make it ask for the pin every time I turn on my phone, but that would be more annoying... so I just took off my exchange account... I didn't need it THAT much on my phone...

Re: Exchange doesn't work in WM6.1

I cant speak for the OP as to his problem, but I am having this issue as well. Here is my problem specifically;

1. Using the HTC Mogul directions, I have gone into Setup E-mail

2. I entered my e-mail address and password

3. I cleared the "try to get e-mail settings..." option and clicked "next"

Here is my problem...when I go to select "exchange server" from the e-mail provider drop down box, that selection is NOT there. The only two selections available are "Internet e-mail", and "Custom domain." So far, attempting to use either of these two selections results in frustration.

Prior to upgrading my Mogul I was able to connect to the exchange server at work and had no problems. I even remember that there was an "exchange server" selection in the previous ROM.

Any help from you all would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Don't use "try to get email settings."

Input everything manually. Your exchange server isn't configured to work automatically, or something else is a wry.

Re: Exchange doesn't work in WM6.1

First and foremost: did you try a soft-reset?
Second:
Did you reinstall any security certificates?
Even if you did, I would try reinstalling them again.

Re: Exchange doesn't work in WM6.1

I'll second the fact that you need to put in your mail server manually rather than let it auto-detect. Only Exchange 2007 supports autodiscover.

Another thing to consider is whether or not the server needs a certificate to be installed first.

Re: Exchange doesn't work in WM6.1

I've setup all my settings manually. Server is Exchange 2003 SP2. Our network / server folks have told me everything is up to date on the server for Exchange 2003. An interesting note is that I tried to sync to an exchange 2007 box and it worked like a charm.
