Proble with directional pad freezing up

I have noticed lately that my directional pad has been locking up in that I cannot navigate around the today screen/quick menu with the d-pad itself. If I go into a program, such as kevtris, it works again for a second and then freezes. It does not freeze the whole phone but does not let me get around with the d-pad, touch still works. Has anyone else had this problem? I have the new (but not the latest) leaked sprint ROM 9from a couple weeks ago). I seem to remember the same thing happening with JD’s Rom so I do not think it is the ROM itself. I am thinking it has to do with a particular program (kevtris, maybe?) but have been unable to reproduce the issue on a regular basis. Anyone ever had this issue? Suggestions?

Yes, i've been seeing this recently as well... really irritating! Happens to me the most in Mail or in Viigo.

Re: Proble with directional pad freezing up

I have been having the same problem and don't use any of those programs.

I think it may be a rom issue. I am using vets 1.4 rom at the mo.

I thought it was just my d-pad wearing out. Good to know that isn' the cause

Re: Proble with directional pad freezing up

I am having the same issue every so often and is usually fine for some time after doing a soft reset. I'm running the official wm 6.1 rom and the issue occurred on the leaked rom as well. When it happens I am sometimes able to get it to move after pressing a direction 3 or more times. In fact it just started while typing this post which is via Opera Mini.

Re: Proble with directional pad freezing up

I'm using a PPCkitchen ROM. I don't remember this happening before the GPS build... It drives me nuts. As someone already mentioned, you can usually get it going again by waiting/pressing several times.
