Leaked OEM Sprint test ROM - Slow?

I've been running this ROM and it seems to be pretty decent. It does feel a bit slow for me? Anyone else? I understand it's a test rom and that's what is causing it most likely. Just making sure it's not me setup.

Re: Leaked OEM Sprint test ROM - Slow?

I dont know, I'm running this ROM too, and I have about 5-10% more free memory, it also seems much snappier than the previous ROMS I have run on my touch

Do you have a delay when you hit the start button?

Re: Leaked OEM Sprint test ROM - Slow?

My touch feels sluggish during the boot process... even for a bit after it appears ready, it is slow to respond to commands (like hitting Start). After 20 seconds or so, however, it's speedy. I agree with Scrotum in that it feels snappier than other ROMs I've tried.

I've installed a few apps (google maps, HTC Home Customeizer, MusicID, TV Guide) but nothing that runs all the time with my phone.

The only strange thing I've noticed is when my phone is in standby and I get an email, the notification sound will start to play then pause, but resume when I take the phone out of standby (using pocket outlook, IMAP with sprintpcs.com). This doesn't occur with incoming text messages. Did the same thing when I cooked a ROM with the 3.02 kitchen though.

Anyway, hope this helps.

Re: Leaked OEM Sprint test ROM - Slow?

All the roms that use the leaked sprint version seem slow compared to the alltel rom's. But still faster then then any other 6.1 rom's I have used.

The alltell ROM I used was amazing in speed, even data seemed faster, but I couldn't get a GPS lock 90% of the time.

Re: Leaked OEM Sprint test ROM - Slow?

The only issues I have had would be, as the Guywithnolife said, it seems to take longer to get going. But i would have to say that once it does get started up I am able to go longer without having to soft-reset, and it does not seem sluggish even after a few days of usage. Also GPS works a lot better for me than the Alltel ROM did.

Re: Leaked OEM Sprint test ROM - Slow?

The reason it feels slow is because debugging is turned on. They turned debugging off in the kitchen it feels alot snappier

Re: Leaked OEM Sprint test ROM - Slow?

The real only issues ive had with it is the GPS tracking. I get locks very quickly. But tracking in google maps and windows live is jerky and not smooth like it used to be. Also iGuidance is rendered useless. Tracking is way to slow to even use.

Im not getting any delays with the start button like some of you have mentioned. Startup does seem i tiny bit slower but i cant really tell. Lastly everynow and then i get a program to crash. Nothing specific just randomly. Seems to be using around the same amount of memory also.
