Yahoo mail won't log on

I'm not using Seven or Sprint mobile email, I just have my yahoo account set up to go to phone. For some reason yahoo is not accepting my password from the phone. I searched this forum but didnt find anything. Any ideas or a thread that already covers this?

Re: Yahoo mail won't log on

Perhaps this is the answer to my question

http://www.sprintmogul.net/Default.a...orumtype=posts

sprint claims that the yahoo pop mail settings that you get when you first set it up on the phone are temporary and after the settings expire you have to pay like 25.00 to yahoo for a year of pop mail service

http://community.seven.com/forum/main.php

I tried seven but it seemed slow at the time. I got yahoo mail working by entering the server information manually and getting the correct info from yahoo. Only thing now is that I dont get a pop up notification or sound when I get emails even thought it's set to do that. The number of unread emails updates though.

Re: Yahoo mail won't log on

Weird it should be instant.
I get my Yahoo in 2-3 seconds of it being sent. and Notifs go off faithfully.

The only time Seven goofed on me is when I had Sprint Mobile Email installed.
It was slow and it wiped my inbox after a few min. Now its great.

I meant the program was slow to run. It seemed to take a long time to load. I might try again now that I've got the correct yahoo email settings to work with.

Right now I'm just trying to figure out why I dont get the notifications for new email. The unread count updates fine but even though I have it set to play a sound and pop up the notification, nothing happens.

Would seven work with the today unread mail button? I would want it to still bring up the app if I clicked it.

IMHO Let it run in the BG, hide it from the taskbar and forget about it. See if it works then, its very light so no great deal of RAM loss doing it.
If you keep closing it out it draws up more power on the relaunch, killing your battery. Its slower because its rescanning both inboxes each time it reopens. I haven't had to look at the app itself since day 1 after adding my account.

Thats weird, I let my old email notifs alone & Seven uses those, something else is causing trouble, Seven uses the same defaults as the basic mail.
Do other notifications sound off?

Yeah, again it uses the built-in mail app so theres no reason why it wouldn't/shouldn't.

Re: Yahoo mail won't log on

ok, got seven working and the notification now works. I'm liking it and I'll try keeping it running in background as well.

Re: Yahoo mail won't log on

How's this for battery life? over 3 hours, playing music for about an hour or so with seven, pocketcm, pocketinformant and activesnyc in the background, 20 minutes or so reading a pdf file and while playing music had airplane mode off.

The battery got down to 50%

Re: Yahoo mail won't log on
