outlook shell error

has any one come across this error:
I receive an incoming email notification, click view and poutlook opens, but only takes up about 2/3 of the screen. i can still see the bottom half of the today screen below and access whatever i can see - i have my calendar+ running and can select and go to my calendar program with poutlook open occupying the top 2/3 of the screen. I recall something similar like this on the 6700.

if i open up poutlook directly everything works fine.

This error doesn't happen everytime and seems to occur randomly.
