HTC ROM upgrade

Is the rom upgrade listed on HTC's website worth downloading? Has anyone had any problems with it after loading it? Most importantly, if I decide to do it, do I have to unlock my phone first? I just picked up a new replacement with stock configuration....

Thanks again!

If your planningon running a custom ROM then the only benifit to flashing the update is you will get the updated Radio.
And no you do not need to unlock your phone to flash the official update

Re: HTC ROM upgrade

I say yes. if they provide updates, use them, otherwise don't complain about not getting any. the radio/pri and rom in general are much better than the original.

Re: HTC ROM upgrade

I just upgraded my rom on my Alltel touch pro amd i have noticed that the stock speed of the phone is much faster ! i havnt even hacked or tweaked my phone yet after i installed the new rom. I have also noticed that the battery actually lasts WAAAY longer now.

I am having trouble however with the phone keeping most of my Read SMS's new and so forth

Re: HTC ROM upgrade

I personally think the official ROM update is better than any custom ROM out there. My TP no longer freezes 10000 times a day from random WM6.5 glitches, and that's awesome. I miss kinetic scrolling, but I don't care that much. At least my phone works properly now.
