Program Dependent Backlight Control

I've been searching for a long time - for a program that will eliminate backlight suspend when running certain programs, like gps. I'd like to avoid going into settings each time - I'd rather have a toggle - or have this action automatically taken when the parent program runs.

I'd previously found a program called lightjacker, which required me to modify an existing shortcut to my gps software (iguidance). Unfortunately, it didn't work - and rendered my shortcut unusable. I then found another piece of software (who's name I forget) which did the same thing by specifying excepted programs. However, the description clearly mentioned that it wouldn't work with HTC phones.

Has anyone got an automatic program - or perhaps a toggle, that allows a Touch Pro to eliminate backlight suspend?

I think No2Chem has a program for that....

I just tested that program - and unfortunately, it doesn't work for what I'm looking for. It specifically takes over the backlight controls for when you receive a call. If you have the phone against your ear, the backlight goes off - if you have the phone level during the call, the backlight turns on.

The exceptions for other programs are specifically for overriding during a call. So it won't work for general running - when a call is not coming in.

Cool app - but definitely not what I was asking about.

Re: Program Dependent Backlight Control

I've been playing with Lumos - but I don't think it does what I'm asking for either.

It lets me set a custom backlight level per app - which is very nice. But it doesn't seem to override the power saving features in settings. After a couple of minutes, the backlight will still dim - regardless of the custom setting.

I think I'll keep Lumos because of it's usefulness, but it still doesn't seem to do what I want. I guess that unless someone has a different program in mind - I'll just have to continue going into settings every time I want to use certain software for extended periods of time.
