Thank God for tethering

My primary internet connection went down tonight, so I'm now tethering through ATT Wireless. Here are my speeds:

It's slow as canine feces rolling up a hill, (I'm used to a 10Mbps connection), but at least I have an internet connection. I was damned near going stir crazy w/o internet access, and then I remembered that I can easily tether with the HTC Wifi Tether application. I have my phone plugged into the charging base, so I'm easily able to have as long as an internet connection that I want to. Plus, having a 3000mAh battery helps too. I've been connected online for 6 hours now, (and simultaneous voice usage totaling about an hour), and I still have a 94% battery charge remaining.

Thank god for having a baqckup method to connect to the internet. The only bad part is that I can only connect one of my computers to the internet, instead of my entire network, but at least I'm online. .

Re: Thank God for tethering

R u using the usb for tethering or the wifi part because on the wifi part it does allow you to connect up to 5 wireless enabled devices to be shared

Re: Thank God for tethering

I'm tethering via 802.11g, (WiFi) I only have a wireless card installed in 1 of my desktops. (I have a spare USB adaptor so I could hook up another machine, but it still doesn't give me network functionality, (open z:\*.* and run it), so I only see the need to conect one machine as an "emergency" internet connection. Unless there's a way to attach my phone to my router as the access point, (which would kick ***, and I would easily pay $200 to do this)

Re: Thank God for tethering

Did you ever try a print server they act like a wireless bridge. Also is any of your pc set for ad-hoc because all my devices when I use wifirouter is set to network discovery and to infrastructure on pc side . You may know more than me I am just telling you how my setup is when I use the software. with no problems.
