i've searched and still need help

My Touch pro has those nastey crystals taht have grouped to gether from "being in my pocket with keys" unfortunatly i never put my keys in the same pocket. Now on the left side it is so bad it constantly holds down my W X S and shift keys, there's a nice dark line of crystals up there. Should i take my phone back into verizon to have them "fix" or give me a new phone? if i do this i've lookd and am slightly retarded when it comes to these boards Could someone help me find the Verizon Rom so my warrenty won't be void from using a custom rom my brother helped me put on?
