got new phone used unlocked?

I just got my new phone and i powered it on registered it to my acct.
but when i do a reset vol down and power combination

it says

Security Unlocked
RAPH800
SPL 0.37.0000
.....

Is it already unlocked by someone or does sprint still have to first time activate it and then it will lock?

also mine says windows mobile 6.1,shouldnt it be 6.5?

Can i just do windows update and do that?

ok, lets get ya informed here...
that means its locked still... goto the upgrades section, and goto the unlock,flash,relock via SD thread... there you will get your instructions on unlocking... just takes a minute to unlock...

also, no, you dont have to activate the phone first to unlock or flash, since none of it requires a signal to work..

6.5 has not been offically released yet.... though you will find mostly 6.5 roms in the upgrades section as everyone seems to be navigating from 6.1 quickly...

and FYI, when there is a Official 6.5 upgrade available to the masses from MS/Carrier/HTC those are acquired via flashing a new ROm as well...

they all say "security unlocked" when you go into bootloader. it is not unlocked because it says "SPL 0.37.0000". the 0000 would say Cmonex if it were unlocked.

while this is true, every time i've talked to someone that flashed their phone before activating it had trouble with data after it was activated

I would think you would want to activate before unlocking and flashing.
