HTC TP will not align - endless cycle

My Verizon VX6850 HTC TP first began to inaccurately respond to touch commands that were so minor I thought it was my clumbsy pointing. Became progressively worse.

Tried soft reset, re-alignment no change. Finally and reluctantly did a hard RS. However, now after Win 6.1 start screen I cannot progess beyond the Align window. Endless cycle of screen tapping - I've tapped with and w/o sytlus, slowly, quickly, in lanscape mode, on and on.

Nothing works, other fuctions seemed to be predicated on the completion of Alignment. For now phone is useless. Any ideas?

Do you use a screen protector?

Re: HTC TP will not align - endless cycle

I get that occasionally as well with my Verizon TP...sometimes I would go thru it 10 or 15 times...I reflashed the ROM and it worked like the 3rd time thru the alignment sequence...

patience perseverance beats frustration every time.

Re: HTC TP will not align - endless cycle

This happens to me on my VZW TP with either the stock ROM or Mighty 6 -- with a screen protector -- what I find finally works is to hold the stylus on the cross hair until it moves...

Re: HTC TP will not align - endless cycle

it's also possible that your screen's touch layers has loose connectors--which is normally unnoticeable. that means you should just go get it replaced if you are still under warranty. this happened to me a few days ago and i got a replacement with no problem.
