When I flash a custom ROM, if it isn't a VZ ROM I install the Arcsoft that Mighty has posted (5.0.69.44) after the flash (I use a Sprint TP on Verizon).
I have never once dialed *228 after probably 50 flashes & my MMS & data always works just fine..... ~John

My problem with MMS was on VZW's side. I changed plans recently and they did not provision my features properly. At first glance from the Tech it appeared I had all of the fearures but MMS was not provisioned properly. She reset my features and MMS started working. SO if you are having problems that may be a place to start first.
