Borked HTC Touch Pro CDMA

I turned on airplane mode as I boarded my flight this afternoon (imagine that, lol) and after I got off I turned airplane mode off. When I did I wound up with this funky icon and no cell reception. Verizon does have service here, I have reflashed the ROM and Radio to no avail. Here is the screenshot (I'm concerned about the red icon): What the bloody hell is goin on with my phone? I'm seriously confused. This is the ROM I've been using it for several days without issues: http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=50857 Tried both the 6.1 and 6.5 (6.5 was the ROM in place when I started having issues)

Try taking the battery out for 5 whole minutes and then putting it back and turning it on. I flashed a ROM once on a flight to Miami and when I got off the plane, I couldn't get any data at all. I had to call Sprint and talk to them for 30 minutes for them to figure it out. Idk if it will work in your situation but it worked for me so it's worth a try.

Hope this helps,

dwizzy130

Why not 5 partial minutes? 5 partial minutes worked for me...

OP, under Start/Settings/Phone on the services tab do you have anything that says Network Service or System Select? If so select it and click on "get settings". If there is an Automatic A and Automatic B setting trying switching it. In some areas of the country, Verizon is the A side carrier but most of the time it is the B side. If you go from one place to another where VZW is on the other side it can cause "No Service" on the phone. If nothing else, the phone may be "stuck" on the wrong one and you can change this without any risk to the phone. If this doesn't work I don't know (this is a long shot as it is).

I wonder if you took it to vzw store in the area where you are....they might be able to show you what the problem is....then if you go there again...at least you will know what to do.

My god I am freaking moron. You hit the nail on the head. As soon as I turned on the roaming it worked. I feel like such an idiot. Thanks for the help, I do appreciate it.

Although not exactly what I thought the problem would be it is close enough to have figured it out. Glad I could help.
