Exchange Touch Pro with no TEP

I got this phone of eBay and it was brand new and now I have that "rainbow" smudge in screen. If I take it to a Sprint store could I get an exchange? Would it be a refurn or new?

seeing as how you have no TEP , ide be thankful if the Sprint store would even fix it for free. Refurbs arent that bad, and if it is then take it back.

So how would I get TEP added, since that is greyed out for me online I only had this phone for about a month.

So it is possible for them to fix/replace it without TEP?

you can only add TEP within 30 days of buying a new phone or activating a new line from sprint. Spint store that has a repair center would probly be your best bet my friend. most of the time theyll do it right then and there. good luck.

I don't know how sprint runs things, but I bought an apache off ebay a little longer than 2 years ago and put TEP on it. no questions asked. so then when that one eventually broke and sent it to asurion, etc, etc

sprint allows u to add TEP within 30 days of activating a phone (Regardless of it being an existing or new line) so ure best bet is switching ure phone with an old one and then switching back (this can all be done online) which will then enable u to add TEP...

If you pay for a repair there they can offer it to you then.

Sprint has started keeping a log of old phones on the account. I put an old mogul on my wife's number when her vogue went in for warranty repair. I tried to add the protection and they said the phone was activated on my original activation date.

I don't know how far back the log goes. My father in law is a subcontractor, and last year when he replaced his broken phone (job hazard) with an old phone that was activated 3 or 4 years ago. They offered the protection plan on that. Of course, for $7 a month, it wasn't worth it for a $50 phone.

Sprint will also charge you an activation fee each time you switch phones. So weigh your cost.

Try to do an online chat and see if they will add it for you. It was greyed out for me while I was still within my 30 days.
