How do you remove email and text received notifications?

Yea,

This is ALSO an annoying issue that seems to plague ppc and smartphones. I'll get a few messages and go to the tf3d screen and read them....but the new message count stays the same. it's also as if you have to go into threaded view for each one and address it individually.....any fix or workaround for this?
