anyway to get rid of text bar above typing box?

When i pull out the keyboard to start texting with it, there would be an annoying grey bar that seems to suggest words as i type. I have all the Auto-Complete, Word Completition, Suggestion boxes unchecked in the Inputs settings, but it still shows up. I just want to type using the keyboard with no additional help from the phone.

press FN then space (T9) and select ABC

Open your keyboard up. Press the FN key. Then press the space bar.
