OK... gotcha... so when the phone is plugged in you want dashwire to auto-sync. Actually not a bad idea... I would send feedback thru to the dashwire folks with that suggestion. I too would like more flexibility with the sync feature... maybe schedule it to sync just at the end of the day instead of running all thru the day, etc..

If you want something right away (and you are sorta technically inclined) you might be able to set dashwire up to do manual syncing and then create a mortscript that would check if you are plugged into power, if so do a manual dashwire sync.

Re: How do you stop startup programs? (dashwire)

Forgive me...I'm just a little confused as to specifically what type of syncing capabilities people were collectively looking for. ajskhan, were you looking for what apinkel suggested? A auto sync feature when the phone is plugged in via usb/power source? As for scheduled syncs, we've received feedback like such before. Definitely something we look to seriously consider in the near future. Were there any other sync capabilities people generally thought could be useful? Thanks

i though you had forgotten about us over here in ppcgeek land.. j/k good to see ya back!

the sync when plugged in sounds ok, but sometimes data sessions generate too much heat so phone stops charging. (that would be bad) for this idea, it would be ideal to have the phone app communicate with the server, if the user is logged in/active on the site, the phone stays in autosync, otherwise just syncs and shuts down.

I would still very much like to see scheduled syncs

also along these lines, it would be nice to have command arguments for quick shortcuts/scripts; dashwire.exe -synconce, -manual, -autosync

Thanks for reading here!

Just like shaggy said, command line switches would be ideal. You can add an option inside the program itself and maybe have all the arguments in a text file so we can add them manually if necessary.

My ideal would be only auto-syncing when I manually open the program. And when I close the program it would not auto-sync, and hence not eat up my battery.

In the end, I still love this app. GREAT WORK!

So... you want it to autosync so you wont have to press the single "Manual Sync" Button?

Is it just me, or am I in some bad episode of the Twilight Zone?

Re: How do you stop startup programs? (dashwire)

I think this whole thread is full of bad communication. :P

At least, what I get from the thread is that he doesn't want dashwire to start automatically with windows, but he wants it to still auto-sync when it is open. This way, he can manually open the app and have it autosync new items, then when he's done he can close the program and have the syncing stop.

I think that's one interpretation... The other is that they want to sync only at given times
