A simple idea for managing & sharing bookmarks between Opera and PIE -->
I do not use TF3D. For you who like TF3D/Opera bookmark integration, this will not work for you.
I use both Opera and Pocket Internet Explorer (with PIE + extension), they shine in different ways. PIE is lighter, loads faster, and can be more stable. Clearly, Opera can load more complex pages and the touch interface is superior.
Goals: I always wanted a way for 1) Opera and PIE to share a unified bookmark list and 2) easily creating/updating bookmarks on the PC and just update once for Opera and PIE to see the same list.
Problems: PIE uses individual files while Opera uses opera6.adr. It would require more work to edit opera6.adr manually every time there is a change or update. I found a converter tool but it did not work properly.
Solution: Create a simple HTML page with links to my bookmarks, and set both PIE and Opera's home page to this local file.
A sample code would be:
<a href="https://mobile.paypal.com/us/">PayPal Mobile</a>
<a href="http://google.com/gwt/n">Google Mobilizer</a>
I have each category uder a heading, and clickable links under it. When I load each browswer, I am presented with an organized list of links that I can select. I don't need to chose "favorites" or "bookmark". It is laid out for me when the browser loads.
You can use something as simple as Word (or Notepad) to create the html file. It's a bit of work the first time, future updates are easy.
To set the PIE home page to a local file, the syntax is: file://\<directory\file>
Example (from my Diamond):
file://\Internal%20Storage\apps\bookmark\mob-fav.htm
Note: The %20 is used by PIE & Opera to identify "space"
For Opera:
file://localhost/<directory/file>
Example:
file://localhost/Internal%20Storage/apps/bookmark/mob-fav.htm
Important
This is not for everyone. Some people do not like PIE, or Opera, and use one or the other. I am certain that there are better ideas. I am simply sharing my solution. It works well for me. If it helps someone, great.
Enjoy...
