VZW Teathering Issue

My phone is a Sprint Diamond Pro that I ported over to VZW.

Everything works great including my internet, but I can't seem to get the USB
tethering feature to work.

When I use the Internet Connection Sharing program installed on the phone, it confirms the connection, but the PC won't connect after detecting the drivers.

When I use VZ Access Manager, it says PPP Connection reset,
and it still won't connect.

Any ideas?
What are the proper registry/data settings involved?

Re: VZW Teathering Issue

Did you install the ICS cab? Don't use the 'Internet Sharing' app that comes included in the VZW rom.

It worked for me right away with the new ICS cab, USB and Bluetooth. Make sure you took out the 'dun' as suggested in the tutorial.

Re: VZW Teathering Issue

I did install -AN- ICS cab that was independent of the VZW one.
Is there a specific file I should be using?
My DUN NAI setting is currently <MYNUMBER>@vzw3g.com

I saw that the tutorial says it should be set to MDN@vzw3g.com, and I HAD it set at that, but I was unsure, based on the NAI setting above, what exactly should be there.

Is there any way I can get a list of settings for the phone that affect Data Tethering -only- and what values should be there?
Keep in mind my regular EV access works very well.

Thanks.

Re: VZW Teathering Issue

Get rid of the VZ access manager. MDN = your cell phone number, not the letters MDN or <MYNUMBER>.

Create a new dial-up connection in Windows, using the newly created modem (when you attached the phone)

Phone number to dial:

#777

Put in for the username:

yourcellphonenumber@vzw3g.com

Password:

vzw

Then turn on the ICS, enabling it for USB connectivity _before_ connecting it to the computer. Then use the newly created dial-up account to connect.

Note: you many need to stop the existing data connection on the cell. Usually, this is set to a long-key press of the End key (configurable from the settings).

Re: VZW Teathering Issue

<MYNUMBER>. was referring to My Cell Phone Number.

SUCCESS!
Your method did work.

But I discovered two other incorrect settings in EPST;
I was at work when I was hacking the phone and people kept
bothering me so I guess it was inevitable that there'd be a wrong setting somewhere.
