PS: Your link doesn't answer my question. Try googling this: "reading for comprehension". I was asking if there was a setting in the phone which will turn force the phone into 1x or EVDO. I'm not going to be hacking my registry every time I come home from work. Joe |

lol... I will try to find an answer for you Joe... And you should post your questions in this forum... That is what PPC Geeks is about... Helping each other out... Just make sure you search the site first... Which it seems you did since I can't find anything either...

Re: Can you set EVDO vs. 1x?
Well, I think it depends on whether the question is easily solved or not. I genuinely believe that a search on google would've yielded some results relatively easily. Wasn't really trying to be an a-hole, hence the smiley afterwards!
And to answer your supposedly original question, yes there is a setting in the phone that will force 1X or EVDO. You just have to enable it first in the registry once, and after that you will be able to just change it in the phone->options->services->mode of operation page. You won't have to change the registry everytime.. In case you weren't able to find the instructions in the link Originally Posted by clockcycle Force the data connection HKLM\Software\OEM\PhoneSetting\HiddenModeOperation Page Change from 1 to 0 Save and soft reset After resetting, go to: Start > Settings > Phone > Services > Mode of operation You will now have 3 choices, Hybrid (default), EVDO, and 1X. This is great for those stuck on the fringe areas of 1X and EVDO! This exerpt was extracted from here http://www.sprintmogul.net/FAQ/HaizisMogulHacks.aspx That should fix you up, -CC |

Re: Can you set EVDO vs. 1x?
Yup that registry edit will work perfectly for you. I have the exact same problem with my Airave. You can do the Mode Operation settings change on the fly, no need to soft reset ever agter the initial registry edit and reset.
You will see a huuuuge battery life increase. |
