yea well i used to work for a cell phone company and they got their car chargers and such for $0.15 to $0.25 so this cable couldnt be much more than that......the real value is how bad do u want it NOW? i think i can wait a few months till mroe people have the phone then buy the cable off ebay. if u can buy a component cable for $0.99 this cable is no way worth $20 sorry but thats a rip off if u ask me

i am positive that they are making more then $12 a cable. even so how many people really work for expansys so to make lets say even 15k in a matter of 3 weeks is pretty good. Cables are always a rip off. but i guess its better then me making it myself. Yay to monoprice to buy a HDMI cable for $8 when it costs $80 at bestbuy w00t.

This cable is far more complex to manufacture than a car charger and requires more components. In addition, the cable is shielded. This isn't a $2 dollar cable. Sorry to disappoint you.

if you cannot make this cable for $4 or less you need to change careers. At the quantities they produce these cables and distribute them I guarantee you are wrong. But hey you have been doing this for 10 years so if it makes you feel better to think you are right who am i to stop you?

What? There isn't anything shielded here, its just basic RCA cables (their 'shielding' isn't anything that adds much cost) hooked to a box with a miniusb input and extusb plug.

Not to mention average joes on this forum have made their own out of less than $4 of materials. Check the "essentials" thread. If that's paying retail price for "ingredients" imagine what the big companies must be paying.

I'm going to try to make my own cable first - and I just ordered an adapter for $3 shipped. All I need beyond that is an RCA cable which I already have, and electrical tape.

Well mine shipped today, and I wouldn't mine making my own its just that my time can be spent doing other things making me more money than trying to save just a few dollars.
