Cannot assign mp3 ringtone as text message sound? Please help

Hey guys,

Im new to this forum. Most of my answers about the Touch Pro i've been able to find by reading the threads...however, I can't find a way to assign the text message sound to a ringtone i made. Am i doing something wrong? It only gives me stock options and won't let me assign my own ringtones like I do for incoming phone calls.

Try converting it to a .wav or .wma file

Converting to .wav or .wma or .mp3 seems to have no effect. I can see the ringtones when im selecting the Incoming Call pulldown menu...but under Text Message notification, none of them show...

anyone else dealing with this same issue? I'd really like to assign my own sounds to incoming text messages.

this is what i do.. i copy it into the "my device" section then i copy it to my "my documents" i dont no which one is the right one so i do both and it comes up in my pull down menu hope this helps

You can also store your ring tones on your storage card. Just make sure they are not in a folder.
