My TP seems picky with car chargers

I have two different aftermarket USB chargers. Coming from the Mogul and PPC-6700 I don't have a shortage of chargers laying around. I noticed that my TP wouldn't accept either one so today I decided to head to the Sprint store and pick up one of their branded ones. Interestingly enough, the Sprint one had no problems charging the TP. I was able to drive home with Bluetooth on and TomTom going and not arrive with my battery drained today. My aftermarket ones don't have a problem with the Mogul but had problems with the TP. Anyone else have this issue? Is the TP more picky on the car charger?

Re: My TP seems picky with car chargers

I think probably more of the connector issue. I used a DC converter which also has a USB port for charging without any issue. I did use the OEM USB cable.

Mine did the same thing. The car charger charges a Mogul, LG Lotus, and a Motorola Razr with no problem, but when I plug the Touch Pro in, it lights up as if its charging, but does not charge. I even use the same wire that I plug it into my computer and wall and it charges fine inside the house. Anyway, I tried using a power inverter with a usb port and the same wire and it charges. Maybe the car charger is not pumping enough power to the touch.

Re: My TP seems picky with car chargers

On one of my car chargers, it says you need to turn the phone off first (in this case, put the TP in "Flight Mode") and then plug the car charger in, then it will charge (you can then turn the phone back on if you want to and it will continue to charge). Sure enough, that did the trick. If your car charger isn't working with the TP, you may want to give this a try.
