Extremely long time to open Windows Directory

Using File Explorer or Total Commander it takes an exceptionally long time (3-5 minutes) to access the Windows Directory on my Touch Pro.

3-5 minutes is far too long to watch the rotating Microsoft Windows Mobile logo IMHO.

Does anyone else experience this?

Any fixes?

Thanks,

Shane

Re: Extremely long time to open Windows Directory

Mine takes about 15 seconds...something sounds wrong. Have you done the obligatory Hard Reset after first receiving your phone?

+1. Having this enabled will increase the time it takes to open the Windows directly sometimes up to 20 fold. Without this checked it should take 5-7 seconds.

Re: Extremely long time to open Windows Directory

Thanks for the very quick replies. I had to go Rock the Vote so I was away for awhile.

I performed two Hard Resets as soon as I got the Touch Pro in my impatient hands.

I did have the Show All Files checked, so I unchecked it. Then I performed a Soft Reset and it still takes >2 minutes to access the Windows Directory.

I've done very minor modifications. Installed a roaming cab and the battery meter mod.

Any other suggestions?

Re: Extremely long time to open Windows Directory

FIXED!

I ended up performing a Hard Reset and it made the entire system much quicker, including access to the Windows directory and the TF3D interface.

I guess the lesson here is that maybe 2 hard resets are not enough. The 3rd hard reset was the difference maker, at least in this case.

Thanks to everyone who contributed!

1 hard reset is all you need, several hard resets doesn't make a difference or make any new changes each time.. What it looks like to me, is that last hard reset you removed your "customizations" which is what was really causing the issue.
