different carriers can choose to shut down this feature and pay a little less for the phone since htc does not have to license the gps features of the chip in these devices. extremely unlikely that sprint will since they actually saw the err of their ways with the mogul and unlocked gps with an update (most other carriers have not so we'll see if they disable it). either way it probably won't be hard to install the sprint rom on these devices and unlock the gps feature right after - albeit without having an assistance server and therefore poor gps performance like current non-sprint titan/vogues.
