Unhappy Is it just me?

OK, I had issues with my old TP and got a replacment (refurb). Well after having issues I was finally able to get the GPS to work on my new to me phone, but now it seems like the GPS just quits working every so often and I have to do a soft reset in order to get it working again. And on top of that if you look at the screen there is a spot in the middle of it about 1 inch by 1 inch that looks like a greasy spot. If you were to look at a puddle in the road that has oil in it how it has that rainbow look to it, that is what it looks like. I have been putting up with that for a while now because other than when the back light isn't on I don't really notice it that much. But then the other day i was talking to my wife and I pulled out my phone and I noticed 3 little black dots under the screen along the left hand side that seem to have gotten bigger. It looks like it has actually moved to the right a little because you sort of see a trail behind the spots.

Is it just me in that I must have had 2 really bad phones, or have others have similar issues multiple times?

What you are experiencing is the digitizer delaminating from the touch screen. It is a known hardware issue with the TouchPro.
I had mine replaced when it stopped working completely.

Re: Is it just me?

Well I don't feel as bad now that others have had issues, but it still makes me pretty mad. I spent good money on this phone only to find out that it has issues like this. I am able to upgrade here in about a month so I think I will be switching over to the Droid. My wife has one for her job, and it seems pretty good from what all I have done with it. And I know other who have it and love it. So when the time comes I might be moving away.

Re: Is it just me?

yea, the TP is plagued with probs. i had gone through at least 6 phones. digitizer never fully came off, but was close. so far the tp2 seems like a much sturdier device.

No abuse here. I treat it like glass. Just a hardware problem.

Re: Is it just me?

*sigh* starting last night I have started yet another issue... now my screen is now non-responsive. The buttons seem to work but nothing happens at all when I do anything with the screen. Last night it started working after about 6 or so soft resets, and so far today i have done it about 10 times and still nothing.

You know when I first got the phone I was some what happy with it, but as time goes on more and more things start to happen.

Re: Is it just me?

Well I went in to the local Verizon store and a tech looked at it and after they talked to their tech support they are sending me another TP. When I got home I tried to hard reset it, and I couldn't even finish it since I couldn't tap the screen to finish the set up. Hopefully this one will be better.
