In a bit of a dilemma, suggestions?

(Note, if any mods want me to reword this I will do so right away)

I just joined the site last night, I've been a sprint user for some time but have been stuck with a Samsung Rant. Just recently a good friend of mine who uses Alltel replaced his TP with a Droid and let me have the TP, which I soon found out isn't going to do anything on the Sprint network anytime soon . I know I need 50 posts to stick it in the trade section but to rack up that many I'd probably need a phone relevant to the forums so I'm not sure what to do. And as a last ditch deal, would it be possible to perhaps swap out the main-board from a sprint phone and use it's ESN if thats even kosher?

Well my suggestion is this:
Don't talk about using other phones ESN's it illegal and against forum rules,
If you are going to buy a Sprint phone for what do are talking about, activate it and sale the Alltel.

Thanks, I'm new to all this and wasn't sure how the ESN system worked. I am curious though, since the ESN is bound to the broken phone would using it's mainboard in another be considered illegal? I'm not talking reprogramming if thats even possible but fixing a broken sprint phone with the alltel phone parts.

Re: In a bit of a dilemma, suggestions?

Thanks for the link, hopefully I can avoid that route. Surprisingly I got in touch with sprints customer service and was told there is a ticket in place to have the engineering dept add my esn So we'll see where that goes, meanwhile I did a bunch of reading and have the phone flashed and programmed to work with sprint now, at least the activation numbers are being directed to them whereas before it was some company asking for a credit card or something for long distance.

If you can get sprint to add your esn, you are lucky as hell
