Re: Leave screen off when receiving SMS?

Does this have anything to do with hardware? There should just be an option for this... grrr

I might try pocketshield for the time being, not afraid 2 but just would rather have a reg fix

Re: Leave screen off when receiving SMS?

I would think its because texts arrive using 1xrtt and so do phone calls, which have to wake your phone. Guessing its the same for MMS since its mixed in with sms. Just a guess....

ah, that it a good guess. I just installed pocket shield. So far I kinda like it. I'm gonna try it out a few more days before I know for sure. Might end up picking it up I think it said like 8 bucks or something. Is there a way to backup pocketshield settings? I am flashing a lot

I usually just backup the reg settings and then import them using sashimi when I do a fresh flash.

this is the reason why! i have tried to say this a million times but nobody reads my messages or something. its because your phone switches to 1x when you get a txt message

That would all be well and good if all phones woke while receiving texts, but they don't, I'm afraid. In fact, all of my non-HTC WinMo phones did NOT wake on SMS. So while the 1x theory may be plausible, it is only so (at least as far as I know) for HTC phones, and is so not because there is no workaround, but because HTC (and perhaps some other makers) decided to make this mandatory.
