3.5mm Audio Jack connecting to Car Aux

I just bought an 3.5mm audio cable to connect my Sprint HTC Touch Pro2 to my Car Aux jack to play music.

I use WMP on my HTC.

The audio quality is not great and lot of static. I also have to do lot of wiggling to get it working.

After it works for a few seconds, the phone automatically starts dialing in last dialed number and music stops playing.

Is this a problem with HTC device, 3.5 mm audio cable or Aux Jack on my car?

I am newbie to all of this, so appreciate any suggestions to solve this problem.

thanks,

Re: 3.5mm Audio Jack connecting to Car Aux

sounds like it's hte cabvle or the auxillary port. I use my phone on my aux port in the car all the time and the sound is great.

Re: 3.5mm Audio Jack connecting to Car Aux

What would be the reason that after a few seconds, the phone starts dialing the last dialed number by itself?

Any idea?

Any specific cable that you are using - that I could try that gives the great quality over 3.5mm jack connecting to Aux Jack in car?

Thanks,

Have you tried using headphones to listen to music?

Yes - connecting a headset works fine.

I use mine in the car just fine, I'm guessing you have a bad cable or a bad port.

Re: 3.5mm Audio Jack connecting to Car Aux

Has to be bad cable or port. I use mine for music and to use the dual mic/speaker for phone calls thru the sound system and it works great. About as good as my iPod.

Mine works fine, maybe you should try cleaning the connectors?
