Have they fixed the VZW/WM time zone problem?

Thinking about coming over to TP2 from the i760. My consistent complaint with the i760 is that it cannot handle changing timezones. I travel the US one half of every year and I get into every timezone. But the i760 or WM would never let me set the phone to auto update time but leave timezone change alone. The reason I want it to NOT auto update timezones is that I do NOT want calendar items to shift around. My old Treo 650 with the much maligned Palm OS did this effortlessly. Supposedly the 760/WM can too. Check it out. Go to phone/options/services/time and set time to update auto and zones manual. Then fly across country. On the i760 it updates time and zone changes which shifts all calendar items to the new time zone. I have called support but all I got was an apology form VZW cuz they confirmed it does not work. Please someone tell me VZW/TP2 will give me the ability to update local time but leave zones alone... Thanks folks...
