Blackberry Connect

Anybody know whether Sprint provides and/or supports Blackberry Connect for the Touch Pro2?

Any reason that you can't use ActiveSync or just setup your email accounts within Pocket Outlook instead?

I can't connect to the exchange server at work using active sync (issue with "invalid certificate" on the server). My work essentially is telling me they don't care about Windows Mobile and only support Blackberry.

this is a tough one- before IT upgraded our exchange I tried to get blackberry connect to work- while you can find the cab to install BBconnect you will be blocked by the blackberry server based on you device ID and or carrier- this seems pretty much locked down- on the other hand its easy enough to try it again
here was a starting point I had used many moon ago: http://www.sems.org/entry.asp?ENTRY_ID=225

I had some luck in the past with the Diamond. You will need to talk to Sprint's advanced tech support though. Download the cab from above. Install. Set it up on the phone and then call sprint (or call sprint first because you can probably get the rest done while you are on hold trying to get tech support)

If I remember correctly they had to make some changes on the network end.

Re: Blackberry Connect

This is a very easy task for your IT guy all he has to do is export certificate for you and put it somewher like on a flash drive for you and then you put it on your phone open it and you are done... here is a step by step link i just did this it takes five minutes tops and viola you are done... http://msmvps.com/blogs/nunoluz/arch...e-devices.aspx

Re: Blackberry Connect

Our company only supports remote email access via VPN or blackberry devices. And i refuse to carry a blackberry since i cannot do everything i can with my WinMo device.

Even though we use exchange for internal use we do not allow exchange to be available from outside.

So i am really hard pressed to get this working instead of carrying two devices.

With 30,000 employees, I am sure the security folks will ignore one person's request to provide external access. And i am part of the IT department, just not part of the security dept.

I think the scenario above applies to many of us here.

I looked at the thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...74#post4150074 from xda. But the procudure did not work for me.

That seem to work for GSM Touch Pro 2. I wonder if the model id is different for ours and hence not working for me.
